A new blog for a new year. A New Year’s Resolution that WILL actually continue past February, unlike it’s twin resolution of exercising everyday (R.I.P Jan 12).
Anyway, dahlias. Growers tell me the last heatwave we had in Adelaide knocked them around but now they are back. Now they are “Back” too, I think, in that they are starting to shake off their daggy reputation. I love them for being the Summer floral extravaganzas that they are, with just a touch of kitsch; kind of like those expandable fold-out tissue paper decorations, or paper cocktail umbrellas. The shots below are from an event last weekend, a perfect Summer day.
